The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the Department of Water Resources and the State Water Resources Control Board are implementing the CALFED Water Transfer Program. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which establishes how they intend to share information with the public and create a Water Transfer Information Clearinghouse.

This web site provides access to information related to water transfers in the CALFED solution area in which the CALFED agencies are involved. Numerous other water transfers take place within water districts or between agencies or individuals who do not need assistance to complete these transactions. Information on local water transfers is best obtained from the local water programs.
